Volunteers Appreciated!
How can volunteers get involved in the Webster Bible Church/Webster Christian School Library?
Volunteers serve in many capacities . . .
|
- As part of our Real Men Read campaign, many men volunteer to read books to the students in the library and/or classroom. This sets a great example--especially to the boys--that reading is cool!
- Volunteers staff the library on Sunday mornings before and after the morning worship service.
-
Often parents of elementary school students enjoy volunteering in the library during the time when their child has library class. Parents help the students locate books to borrow, re-shelve returned books, check out books or supervise lesson-related crafts and games, or assist with research.
-
Some volunteers enjoy helping to process new materials which includes placing a plastic cover over dust jackets, applying barcode lables, etc. We add about 1,000 new items to the collection each year, but many hands make light work when it comes to getting materials ready for use in the library.
